When I go on my scale or my pcps scale my weight is the same both places, but when I go to my vsg dr I'm 6 lbs lighter! Should I subtract 6 lbs from home and pcp or just go by what mine says?

I have the same issue. I decided to go by my scale since that's the one I'm going to be using over the long-term, but really, it's whatever you want to do!

I agree, except my doctor's scale only has me about 1- 1 1/2 lbs lighter. I would *think* the doctor's office scale would be more accurate....?

I find that most of my differences in weighing in at various places (doctor, surgeon, home) has to do with one of a few things - how much clothing I'm wearing, what type of clothing I'm wearing, and how much I've had to eat or drink in a given day. I use my home one for personal tracking and don't really worry one way or the other about what I'm being weighed at in different places.

Go with your home scale. This is the one that you will be weighing in on most of the time.

I say purchase another scale. I had that problem' date=' my scale was not calibrated properly and I wanted to make sure I had an accurate reading.[/quote']

I had the same exact problem every morning I was 170.4 than it said I weighed 168 after I got on it again. My sister suggested I buy another and I got a Weight watchers scale says 169.5 I knew it was the darn scale.

My surgeon told us yesterday at group,he tells his patients throw away your scales and just wait to you come for your check up. You can go thru periods where you're not losing actually pounds, but are dropping inches,so it can be discouraging if you're not seeing pounds dropping

I might put them out of sight but keep them handy. Later on you will want to weigh yourself. I have my first month check tomorrow and I have not weighed myself yet. Bu after tomorrow I will weigh once a week.

I have a Weight Watchers scale and I love it. I weigh myself every Tuesday morning before and after my workout. Both the dr's scale and the WW scale have had the same weight. They take off 2 lbs because of clothes.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
