Look and see if you have a Clothes Mentor in your area. They sell gently used clothing, only recent styles and certain brands. I love it.

I have a tailor that I will be using. I have way too many articles of clothing that I can have tailored as opposed to purchasing new. I tend to wear tailored timeless pieces so tailoring is the best option for me. As For the sweats I'll wear them until they fall off.

This doesn't help the men lol. But ladies- leggings are my secret weapon. Luckily right now oversized things are actually stylish so you can get away with baggy tops a few sizes too big. Just pair an oversize top with some leggings, pair of boots and an over sweater and there's my winter wardrobe. It's gonna get harder come spring lol. Obviously not an answer for work wear but for every day where it's working out great for me lol. I def can't afford to keep replacing jeans so the legging thing is working for me lol.

...buying clothes to replace the ones that are too big? I was just sleeved 12/17, but I am almost 40 lbs down from my starting weight and my clothes are seriously baggy. My underwear falls down. I guess what I need to do is go through ALL of my clothes in hopes of finding a few things I may have grown out of before. I have no problem going to a thrift store, but we all know how hard it was finding clothes that fit in a place that sells new clothes at our old weight, and thrift stores are so hit-or-miss. Any suggestions?

Glad to hear this is your biggest problem! ;)

Find a Goodwill in a affluent area. Aren't I tacky? It's true though. Yes, it takes a long time to find things because they are sorted by type and color. It's take a long time to sift, but be patient. It's worth it.

Ebay is another goldmine. People sell all kinds of clothes.

You deserve to reward yourself with one good looking good fitting outfit when you have lost. Part of the joy is to look good. Try taking in your clothes either yourself, or with a seamstress. Don't be afraid to stop at the consignment stores. I find they have a great selection.

Thank God that I had a lot of too small clothing that my mom had sent me. I'm slowly fitting in to the items...sometimes pants, sometimes bras lol

I'm going broke buying food and Protein supplements. My friend's son gave me a Protein Drink container. He said that it cost $17 in the States, it's $42 here. Low/non fat cheeses are expensive also. And, ground meat is over $5 a pound, chicken breasts are $4.

Try costco or Sam's Club. At Costco they have slacks that are just $15.99 and jeans (Gloria Vanderbuilt) that are just $19.99.

I just bought 2 brand new dresses (tags on them!) at Goodwill, one from Gap and one from Lane Bryant. $4.99 a piece!! No luck with pants there though.

Old Navy is having one of their crazy sales and I got shirts for $3.49, $2.99 and $.47!!!!

Love Target for a few items at reasonable prices. I'm lucky though - I've got a wardrobe from size 18 (current size a little smaller than 18 but not quite a 16) down to 10-12 from my lifetime of losing weight. Most garments are out of style, but I've managed to find sweaters and denim skirts that don't go out of style. It's like a time capsule-80's harem pants and slouch tops (back in style!)-too funny!

LOL, hammer time :) If stirrup pants come back in style, I am set!

I am fortunate that I work from home so I do not have to worry about work clothes per say and when I go out since I only have maybe 1 pair of jeans that actually fit now (the others I would have been able to get away with using a belt but I also lost some of my behind so I have saggy butt syndrome when wearing bigger jeans lol) I normally wear yoga type pants, and just stay casual.

I also say Ebay is a great place, I actually have some jeans sizes 22-24 that I have up there. I haven't even hit my work clothing (when I did go to the office) or dress up clothes I need to though to clear out space lol

I just discovered a store called Gordman's.

http://www.gordmans.com/

I had never heard of one but saw one the other day when I was out of town and walked through. LOTS of name brand items and seasonal things at very discounted prices.

I am sure this sounds silly but I will be wearing and utilizing my maternity wardrobe for pants. I buy the secret belly fit from motherhood and the same pair of pants will fit for at least 4 sizes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
