I don't feel "hunger" the same, but my stomach gets loud and I'll burp! (so adorable! Please..I have 2 teen daughters, need I say more?!) when I'm hungry, empty actually, or full-I burp. It's my new alarm clock. Listen to your body, it may be talking to you too!

I'm 1 mo post op. For the past few days I've had intense hunger pain all day. Even after I've eaten, and feel full, I still have hunger pain. Sometimes its relieved a little if I burp, but comes back. I'm eating about 1000 cal a day. I'll admit I sometimes forget to take my acid reducer. I made sure to last night and today and guess what, no more hunger pain.

You are one month post-op and eating 1000 calories? That seems like quite a bit; is that what your plan says?

If you have a hard time swallowing a capsule, open it & put it in a spoonful of applesauce. Worked for me, just open it slowly.

I haven't been doing a great job of tracking, but I've been on many counting calorie diets so I think that's about right. My doctor and dietician said 1000 calories is great. They I could eat carbs, too. But I have stalled, though, so I'm cutting out the carbs. For dinner I had a green salad with 2 oz chicken.< /p>

This happens to me as well. It's not heartburn, it is actual hunger. Not head hunger, but belly wanting hunger. It is totally TOM related for me. I won't even be thinking about food and the pangs start 15 minutes after I eat. What works for me is really high Protein during these times and I let myself graze a bit. 3 Paz of chicken breast over 90 minutes. It really helps me get through it. I probably had hormonal hunger before but just let myself stuff myself!

I have trouble getting enough Protein. I can hardly stand the shakes anymore, and before the surgery I was fine not having meat in my meal. That hasn't changed. And now my stomach doesn't like eggs or pork. But I know I need to work harder at it. Maybe add more Beans or something. It's a learning process.

A green salad? ?? Really?? I'm so jealous! My stomach will not digest raw veggies yet at almost 3 months post-op! I'm still at 600-650 cals. a day. I would gain weight if I ate close to1,000 calories-one if the reasons diets didn't work for me, once calories increased -I was a cooked goose! At least your getting Fiber and vits. naturally-I'm also sick of shakes and chewable vits.! Have a beautiful day everyone!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
