Who is scheduled for Jan 8th? I'm getting nervous

Recommended Posts

Glad to hear you're feeling better. I've treated everyone around me who even sniffles like they have the plague. I just couldn't imagine trying to concentrate on healing, etc and add a bug on top of it.

Good luck on the 5k Jeff. I'm doing a 5k walk this month with a friend. Should be fun if the weather cooperates.

My big milestone this week was going to my gym's "body works plus abs" class today. The instructor is this super fit older gal who gives everyone a run for their money. I'm not going to lie, I couldn't finish all the sets, and I used the lightest weights I ever recall using...but...I stuck it through the whole class and did the best I could. I'm pretty sure I'm going to feel like I got hit by a car tomorrow but it will be a good pain.

Hope everyone is healing and doing well.

Newme......you didn't look at that scale yet, did you? Lol! I did!

LOL!!! Thanks for holding me to my word! NOPE - no scale - Tuesday morning is my big day - If I don't lose anything - I'm just going to throw up! :-)

Jeff - I'm going to join you with that 5k milestone soon - I am determined to get there!!! Way to commit yourself now - I'm chicken still - but I'm going to get there too :-)

Yesterday I hit a major milestone on my fitbit (if you don't have one - get one - talk about addicting (in a good way))!...

16356 steps taken today 164% of goal of 10,000

7.54 miles traveled today 151% of goal of 5.00

That was 3.5 miles on the treadmill for an hour plus all the house work I did yesterday - I always make it to 10k these days - except on my off day - where I do 5k - but have never gone this high!!!! Super proud of all my moving around with all the energy I have these days!

do you drink alot of water? The jerky has high sodium content and you may need to drink extra water to compensate??? You may want to increase your calories too if you are doing really low calories - your body might think it's starving and be storing up the fat... just some thoughts....

Hi Blessings,

I eat cottage cheese, fat free refried Beans, chicken slow baked in Italian dressing, I made cauliflower crust pizza yesterday because I was craving pizza....yummy! Found some great recipes on Pinterest and theworldaccordingtoeggface.com! I love mixing avocados with chicken instead of mayo.

I do not know why beef Jerky only tastes good.....I haven't had it yet. I did buy Perky Turkey Jerky and that was ok! Would be better than beef for you! It had better stats for nutrition. I also buy pre sliced turkey and reduced fat cheese and do a roll up....also yummy! Flavored turkey might be something you like! Beef jerky has got to be expensive too!

Well, I hope this helps!

As for the Fitbit......I plan on getting either that or the Nike fitband for my birthday, on Wednesday. I have wanted one for a long time and that was my goal....next birthday! I am also very very close to onderland! We shall see tomorrow!

Yeah, that's a great blog. I have to try that cauliflower pizza one!

I don't have a Fitbit, but am thinking about one. What model do you have?

And I'm also close to onederland! Was really hoping to get there today, but alas, one pound to go.

Jeff - one stinking pound :-)... that is soooo awesome though and so fast!!!!!! I have the fitbit zip - it has been great - but I saw they are coming out with the fitbit flex you wear around your wrist - it tracks a bit more than the zip... but for me getting started on the exercise bandwagon - I have loved the zip! What a great present to yourself for marking your onederland achievement!

I know...one stinking pound! But I'm going by my high, which was in 1999-2000, of 362. So, not so fast. :)

When I started the sleeve process, I was 348, so maybe that's the official onederland mark, at 248.

Either way, I'm going to Celebrate. And a pound or two more beyond 262, and i won't be considered obese anymore.

Hey Emerald, rock on!

ok - I weighed in - 2 month post op... I haven't weighed myself in 5 days because of my stall - and guess what???? I still haven't lost anything - 2 weeks - NADA!!! I'm seeing my nut next week, but I may email her now - soooo frustrating!!! Yesterday I even walked twice - for a total of 95 minutes, 7.44 miles, and over 16k steps - and 60 minutes of that was a real sweaty type of walk on the treadmill! I know I am losing inches (my underwear is even sagging now :-))... but I want that scale to MOVE!!!!

I may have a good cry today - maybe I'll lose a pound of tears :-)... ok off of my pity party (sort of) and onto the treadmill.... and then I think I'm going back to my original post-op liquid diet for a couple of days to see if that helps!!!

Happy 2 months y'all!!! I hope the rest of you are doing fantastic!!

ok - something "bad" happened at work this morning which tipped me over the edge ... so... I had my good, long cry over my stall, over my work issue and over my autistic daughter in DC with her school with the approaching snow storm.... then I got my butt on the treadmill and walked 4.25 miles and I feel great!!! amazing what exercise will do for your mental well-being :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
