keya34 46 Posted January 16, 2013 What are you experiencing? I find that if I swallow too much or too fast' date=' I burp and feel full within about 15-20 seconds. No pain, really, other than feeling full. Have not thrown up either, which I'm hoping means that I'm catching it early. Is that what you mean?[/quote'] Well I if I sip or just swallow a mouth full I get this cramp like pain as soon as it hits my stomach. So I though it must be going down to fast after I swallow which I can't control right? The only way I am getting my fluids in is by freezing them into ice cubes. But on food no problem. What do you think? I am 8post op on Soup and liquids till next Monday
Tbaby 27 Posted January 17, 2013 My surgery went well' date=' no complications. Thankfully. Lots of pain the first day but now that Im home it seems to be getting better. Im not hungry at all, but have been dreaming of diet coke. LOLJust for fun I stepped on my scale today and guess what? I gained 2 lbs. Im sure its from the IV fluids, my hands are swollen too. I think I'll wait a few more days before I weigh my self again. I hope you all are doing well.[/quote'] Hi I was wondering how you were doing. I had surgery Jan.7 around the same time.I have had NO PAIN even while in the hospital I stopped taking pains meds.Went home with prescription liquid tylenol never opened it. So far I have lost 15lbs from my surgery date. Im able to keep my food down but Protein drinks are hard for me to get in.

I'm on full liquids and all I can do it try to drink Protein all day... Anyone have suggestions? I haven't been having trouble getting protein in, but agree that many of the shakes aren't the best tasting. I found, though, that adding a little cinnamon into the blender helps the vanilla flavors, and I use like 2-3 drops of peppermint oil on the chocolate ones.. At least it changed the flavors and taste up a bit.

I had a 1/2 a small yogart for Breakfast & the other 1/2 for lunch (8g), and then some broth for dinner. This 60g of protein is impossible

keya34 46 Posted January 20, 2013 Hey can we have potato salad i am 2 weeks on Tuesday?
JeffA70 200 Posted January 20, 2013 Hey can we have potato salad i am 2 weeks on Tuesday? I can't. The only potatoes I can have right now at this stage are a few tablespoons of mashed, which I have no desire for personally. I'm on my doc's Stage 4, puréed and soft foods, stage. Pototo salad is probably going to be a very rare thing for me even on full food, though. Not much to it but carbs and fat. I love it, but I'm thinking it's going to be a 'just a taste' item for a long time.

I am at the same stage according to my doctor, I go to my doc on Monday to be advanced. Not really sure how it will go since my nutritionist told me to advance a stage last Monday. I'm amazed at how different everyone's plan is. I would love to start eating solids. Good luck!

I know I read a lot of post, I dont always say anything but when I see what others are doing and there at same stage I can't help but want to try especially if there eating and I am not. But no excuse always follow orders
emeraldeye 37 Posted January 24, 2013 I am on my last day of Pureeds today! Soft food tomorrow! I put a lot of Unjury Unflavored into my cream of chicken Soup to beef up the Protein content. I love cream of chicken over mashed potatoes! Yum! Tastes like pot pie! But, I can only eat a few teaspoons at a time! I am looking forward to a baked sweet potato tomorrow! ( sans the skin). Every stage has been an adventure and I look forward to rocking my sleeve! I have lost 21 pounds since surgery.....44 since my highest at the beginning of my journey! As for potato salad.....it has things in it that we shouldn't eat (raw vegetables). If it doesn't, I would purée it up. I have a great tool for this stage....a wand blender. Great for pureeing Soups and other things! Mine is Oyster brand. Love it! Sent from my iPhone using VST 1 JeffA70 reacted to this
2013newme 42 Posted January 24, 2013 After being released from hospital 2 weeks today, I actually went into the office for the first time (for about 4 and 1/2 hours). I have been working from home this week (part time), but actually drove into the office today! I actually haven't been in the office for a month because of 2012 vacation I had - so when I saw people, they were like - "WOW! you look great! Did you take some time off or something?" "Did you do something to your hair? " It felt great to get this reaction already... I didn't tell anyone I was having WLS - just that I took PTO!! he he he! I'm down 23 lbs since pre-surgery - so I guess it is starting to show! I was so excited to put on work clothes because I was down 2 shirt sizes - yay me!! Of course - I am exhausted now - I still get tired easy - does anyone else feel that way 2 weeks out also? 1 JeffA70 reacted to this

aimeettu 12 Posted January 26, 2013 Alright guys how's everyone feeling. I have this achy pain around the side they did most of the surgery from... And it burns sometimes too. Anyone experiencing the same thing? There's no drainage or anything from that incision. Sound normal? 1 JeffA70 reacted to this
