Has anyone had a bad relationship after VSG? Has VSG been the cause of the problems or break up? I'm wondering because I feel their may be some changes in my 10 year relationship after VSG and I'm kinda worried. my boyfriend loves food ! And it's uncomfortable already not being able to eat the way he does or enjoy a bit here and there due to my reflux I have to watch everything I eat. I'm just wondering how its going to be after the surgery relationship wise. Thanks

I love food. I still cook. Watch cooking programs. Take cooking classes with my wife. I'm fussier about what I eat because I can only eat a small amount, but my relationship with food is better.

It hasn't affected the people around me except that they're happy that I'm healthier and happier. If my wife was eating a bag of chips in front of the TV, I might have some hommus and some carrot sticks. Or nothing, and that's ok too.

I'm over 6 weeks out and lost 24 lbs. Husband is jealous. Never thought that would happen. Makes little comments about me staying after work to go to the gym, being friends with guys on Facebook, etc. He respects my new way of eating - that's not a problem at all, but the jealousy thing is a bit hard to take. And I think he's suddenly bothered by the money I'm spending on new clothes (I work in a very conservative, professional atmosphere and need to dress the part). He never ever says anything about money.

And I'm not anywhere near goal yet. . .

Anyone who really loves u can love u with or without the sleeve. The sleeve will really weed out the loyal people in ur life.

This is a fair Question. I too heard that some people have relationship problems after wls.

But I made the choice to get healthy and Love

Myself enough to take this Journey for me. not stay heavy for the comfort of others

What quality relationship would i have with bad health?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
