2013isit 19 Posted January 5, 2013 Did you have a scopolamine patch for surgery? Did it help with nausea? I'm worried about post surgery vomiting. I have vomited after other surgery but I never had the patch.
Bobo 6 Posted January 5, 2013 I had my anesthesiologist put one on me before surgery and wore it for 3 days, as prescribed. I have AWAYS had a problem with nausea. However, with the patch I never felt nauseated except right when I woke up in recovery a little bit. Other than that, I think that patch saved me! Good luck! notime 340 Posted January 5, 2013 I used the patch starting the night before surgery and had an unusual reaction: it made me so nauseous by the day of surgery that I couldn't even stand, much less walk. One of the surgical nurses told me to take it off and wash the area and my hands well. Even then I could not walk and my husband had to practically carry me out of the house to the car for the trip to the hospital. Once there, I needed a wheel chair to get around the hospital to the surgery center. As I said, this was an unusual reaction but it doesn't hurt to be prepared in case it is your reaction, too.
