Need non-gross chewable Vitamin recommendations ....gummies?

Recommended Posts

I'm currently taking opurity chewable (specifically for gastric sleeve) and I can barely tolerate them.

I have to literally talk myself out of throwing them up /spitting them out/gagging while chewing. It's making me avoid taking them. What about gummies? Are there any that meet WLS post-op requirements?

I'm also taking sub-lingual B Complex/B12. I don't start calcium citrate until week 4.

Help!

For the first couple of months, I did Flinstones complete with Iron, twice a day ground up in my protien shakes. Gross, but I could choke them down mixed in shake. Gummys do not provide the right nutrients we VSGers need.

Your taste will continue to change so don't invest your life in Vitamins. I now take TJ chewable Multivitamin at 2 1/2 years out.

Do what you can and remember things get better/easier.

I use Celebrate Vitamins. I use the grape multivitamin, grape Iron, and the tart cherry Calcium. They don't taste too bad I must say. The multivitamin is the only one I found to have a little aftertaste but I just chew it first and then the other ones.

Good luck on this fabulous journey:-)

I take Bariatric Fusion Vitamins in orange cream flavor. I get them from my doc but have seen them on Amazon. They're not bad as far as vitamins go.

I just took my first Celebrate calcium plus. It's my first time to puke since surgery 12/19!!! I handled the multivitamin and the Iron but it immediately came back up with calcium. I didn't mind the flavor. Any suggestions? I took them spaced out and had something in my stomach!

Sorry I don't have any suggestions. Sorry that it caused you to get sick. That sucks

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
