very strong pain in my right lower belly

Recommended Posts

It's near where the drain was... Kinda around my right hip but in the front. I'm 1wk postop today. I only feel ok when I'm up & walking or laying flat on my back. What could it be? Is it just gas? Could I be ovulating and the pain is just worse than it's ever been? When should I worry?

When I had that my doctor told me it was basically deep muscle strain combined with the internal stitching. Basically as long as you don't meet the other criteria for something more serious (like infection) it *should* go away on its own in a day or so. I took some of my remaining pain meds and took a nap to get rid of mine.

I had the same thing. Today is the first day it doesn't hurt (I'm 18 days post-op).

Sleeved 12/17/12 and enjoying the adventure!

Thank you both, I needed the relief of mind that I'm not dying. LOL

I think maybe I tried to do to much today. I spent the rest of the evening lying on the couch reading a book and I feel better now. Thanks so much for the reassurance.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
