lmedalsy 76 Posted January 4, 2013 Hey guys.. Im looking to book a trip to vegas and am having surgery on jan. 16.. How long after do you all think I should be ok to go and still be able to enjoy.. I was thinking March? Or too soon?...
crystalintville 66 Posted January 4, 2013 I had surgery the end of May and went to the beach the first of August without issues swimming or eating..and having a couple drinks, so I think March would be ok.
aaeactive_gm 20 Posted January 4, 2013 I had my sleeve in march and went to chicago in may and it was ok, but the eating situation was bad. But no pain and nonissue walking and enjoying the sights.
Tink22-sleeve 528 Posted January 4, 2013 Good info for me too. Going out of town for our anniversary, i will be about 7 weeks out.
NewBegin56 7 Posted January 4, 2013 I am going on a cruise 4 days after I start back on 'real' food (5 1/2 weeks post-op). Checked with the Dr and he okayed it. I know I won't be able to eat like I used to on cruises - just small quantities of healthy food.
happilysleeved 114 Posted January 4, 2013 I'm 3 1/2 months out and just went to Vegas for 4 days. I packed Protein shakes, Isopure, beef Jerky, nuts and Peanut Butter packets with me and I was glad I did! All the walking we did, I could definitely tell when I needed a little piece of Jerky. I split meals with my hubby and ate mostly Protein and had some delicious grilled shrimp and fish. Drank lots of Water. Came back and had lost 2 lbs, but I'm really glad I always had my protein Snacks with me! Sent from my iPhone using VST
lmp817 7 Posted January 4, 2013 I actually went to Vegas 6 weeks post op and had no problem. I ate off my husbands plate.
TheGamer 406 Posted January 4, 2013 Yeah, more than anything the tricky part about traveling is about being able to stick to the diet while away from useful things like your own food Physically though, a couple months out is good. I know all my issues were settled by then.
