Everyone is different. I was taking in about 800-1000 but it all depends on what you eat.

Really depends on your activity level and size. A couch potato is going to need far less than someone who is in the gym 5 days a week.

What do you consider "losing weight"? 10 pounds a month?

How active are you? How active are you willing to be?

Starting month 5 and calories are 800-1200 depending on my exercise level. Closer to 800 on the days I don't exercise and closer to 1200 on hard days at the gym.

My NUT told me ideally they want around 1200 calories for me by 6 months and I am pretty much there most days now but it sure took a lot of work to get there.

I will be 3 months out on the 10th and average between 800-1000 calories a day.

I have a sedentary lifestyle, with half an hour of slow walk (1 mile ) and some exercise for 15 minutes.

10 pounds every month will be good enough for me.

Now what do you suggest ?

That's all that I am losing monthly and sometimes less which is actually okay for me. I think if you are sedentary I personally would try somewhere between 700-1000 daily?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
