I am at two years. I started losing my (very thick and waste length) hairaround 4 months. I STILL am losing more than before surgery. I had to cut off my hair as it was looking stringy. I now have short hairs growng in, and they are kind of finer texture than before. I plan on growing my hair out again if the texture normalizes. This being said, as proud as I used to be about my hair, its still worth it losing all that weight! I might even cut it REALLY short, like as long as the shortest hairs, and go from there. Might have to go BLUE or something! Its part of the adventure.

Do every1 loose hair pls help very concerned

I think the majority of us will experience Hair loss. There might be Vitamins, minerals, supplements, tiger blood and dark magic that may help manage it, but I think some loss is inevitable.

On the positive side, I think I'm going to have fun with all sorts of diff wigs :D

Just wondering if anyone has actually experienced minimal Hair loss after their surgery? Or should I expect to be bald after my surgery, I am really scared about this as I have super thin hair already and a bald spot on the side of my head from when I was a kid! This scares me more than having the surgery on the 9th.

It's very frustrating when nutritionists and doctors are telling patients if they do everything by the book they won't lose hair bc that's just NOT the case. I started Biotin and all required Vitamins 3 months prior to surgery and have followed that regimen to a T. I also take zinc daily and have been using top of the line hair products (shampoo and conditioner) along with two different conditioning treatments (one with keratin and one without) after showering and I'm telling you, my hair is falling out faster than I can type this message. Because of how attached I was to my hair, I have taken EVERY precaution and here we are anyways. I would normally be fine with wigs, etc., but in my line of work it will be difficult to keep a wig on. The whole thing is super frustrating and especially these professionals giving false information to those of us who are asking for guidance. Grrr. Anyways, I meet with my stylist (from a very high end salon) on Wednesday and she is doing some type of scalp treatment and supposedly has some miracle vitamin/supplement to introduce me to. I'll be sure to check back and keep you all posted. Hopefully some of us can report that the loss has stopped at some point soon. Hang in there ladies! :) I'm trying to have an "it'll be ok day" bc I was freaking out about this on Wednesday. ;)

I feel your pain. I started Biotin 3 months prior to surgery and I am still losing hair at an alarming rate. Surgery was 9/4 and Hair loss started in Dec. Those of you who are newly sleeved and saying you're not losing hair yet...just wait. :( Mine started at exactly 3 months after surgery and has become horrid. I have no actual bald spots -yet-' date=' but I worry they're coming bc my hair is getting alarmingly thin. Seeing my stylist Wed to talk about possible extensions or a wig. I'm a basket case bc I really want it to stop! So sad...good luck, but I have done all Vitamins and Proteins right and it still happened. I think we just have to suffer through and one day it will stop. Ugh...[/quote']

Hi its our 4 month anniversary hope tour doing well. Was wondering if you wanna chat about your journey?

There is always extensions. Good ones are a little pricey but they are worth it.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
