Chimera 644 Posted January 8, 2013 Going to start my C2K tomorrow as well - I am going to start with a plan that begins with a 5k walk to start as I have wicked arthritis, and see how things go from there. I would love to run and have an app for my phone once I build up a bit of stamina. I am praying my knees cooperate Hubby and I also start Water aerobics once my new swimsuit arrives - I dont think I have bought one of those since I was a teenager and am a bit mortified at the thought of actually putting one on in public lol. here's to scary new activities 3 carolinagirlz, RawrrAshleex3 and Just peachy reacted to this
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted January 8, 2013 Are you training on the road or treadmill? I have my first 5k March 2nd. Ive been training on the treadmill, but I heard its different running on the road. From what I've read, if you put the treadmill on a 1.5 incline it will be more like running on the road. I don't have access to a treadmill, but I love running outdoors so it's okay. Good luck with your first 5K. 1 carolinagirlz reacted to this

AutumnPunkin 313 Posted January 8, 2013 I have the zombies run and zombies run 5k. If you get tired of the boring ol' run, check that out. It can be so much fun! Run, the zombies are chasing you! 1 RawrrAshleex3 reacted to this
ShanRN 58 Posted January 8, 2013 I started this and loved it.....till I broke my leg Stress fracture in my distal femur. 6 months later I'm still healing. It was so odd because I never got the slightest twinge while running/walking. I felt great! 3 days later I could barely walk lol I'm hoping once I have surgery and my weight goes down I can restart this. I love running.

Instead of running, not quite to that point yet, I increase the incline during the jogging sessions. This has proved to be a great workout for me. My heart rate spikes during the incline helping to increase my endurance so one day I will be able to run and then I will do the traditional C25K plan. SweetnCurvy 112 Posted January 17, 2013 Downloaded the app on my phone and started today. Day 1 was simple. Skin around my incisions was sore a bit from the running segments. Plan to stick with it and my 2013 goal is to run a 5k with my daughters' date=' who are both competitive runners and run track. Used to run a lot before a broken foot and a ton of weight gain stopped me. Can't wait for the first race some time in future...wish me luck![/quote'] I didnt know there was an app for that...I must look it up:)

Zombies might work too though :-)
milkD 37 Posted January 24, 2013 I started C25k yesterday. I've been horribly scared of trying it out because I've always HATED running and was horrible at it. But I've always wanted to love it. I was really surprised that the first day was pretty easy. I had nothing to fear! My knees felt it a little but it went away after 15 mins. I think they're just complaining after years of laziness! I'm so excited to run again! I would have tonight but I want to take it slow 1 Butterthebean reacted to this
cataro 39 Posted January 24, 2013 Today I finished my first week of C25k. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I was so surprised to learn I was running a 1/2 mile! 1 Butterthebean reacted to this
Just peachy 15 Posted January 25, 2013 I am so excited to learn there is an app for this! I want to do the "Dirty Girl Mud Run" and need to train for it. I have a slight concern in that I had a very bad leg break (double tibia plateau fracture) three years ago and the doc told me I would not/should not run again. I'm thinking that was because of my weight and now I'm 100 pounds lighter so I plan to ease into it and I hope this program will help me do just that. 2 cataro and Butterthebean reacted to this
