Only one of my incision sites hurt so I am just taking Tylenol. Having trouble with the protien intake I can get 4 tsps of the chocolate shake down but then have to stop. I have also taken the protien slams with a 6ml syringe. Lots of ice chips and tiny sips of Water

I still am taking pain meds. Not because of terrible pain but to take the edge off. I can drink a lot. I don't really have to take tiny sips. Protein Drinks are terrible! I had some vanilla shake and a watermelon Protein slammer today. It helps to sweeten them. I'm not hungry at all, yet.

I got my Protein slammers at Walmart but haven't tried them yet. I am going to add protein in tomorrow. Still have pain on the left side and taking the meds. Each day gets better!

I don't know if just sipping chicken top ramen broth is cheating. But I tried it so far no discomfort and it was soooo good. My 4 yr old only likes the noodles anyways. Now 50 min later tummy ok no side affects. I just could take broth in a box any longer. If anyone has suggestions that would be great thnx. :)

4 days post op and I got the go ahead to cut my pain pill in half and swallow with Water. I had a prescription from before my surgery, was worried I would have to turn it into a suppository. But thankfully no.... so excited had no problem with it so I am free of crushed pills. I am allergic to ibuprofen, vicoden, and codeine so my options are very limited. Hope everyone else's day is going as well as mine, if not hang in there every day holds new potential.

I haven't had to cut my pills at all. I can drink without no pain. Is this normal? I had a Protein Shake, cream of wheat. chicken broth. 4 sf popcicles, crystal light and Water today with no problems. I must be doing ok, right? I'm tempted to try and eat some mashed potatoes.

You sound like you are doing well. You are lucky. When did u have your surgery? I tried a teaspoon of applesauce eventhough thats a no no for a year, that made my tummy very uncomfortable. I am trying to just eat the broth out of Soup my boys will eat. Worried to go too ahead of doctors orders. But I am a big chicken. Maybe there is hope for me. Keep doing great.

My surgery was Mon(12-31). Today I am 5 days out. I didn't know applesauce was a no no. I had some 2 days ago. I keep thinking something is wrong...I can drink, swallow pills, little pain (gas)...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
