Surgery tomorrow!

I'm having surgery tomorrow (1/4) at 10:30am....So my day before surgery diet (I didn't have a pre op liquid diet) is a light Breakfast, Soup for lunch, Clear Liquids for the rest of the day and nothing after midnight. I'm told that this is because they want your stomach as empty as possible to lower the risk of infection. Can I take magnesium citrate today to make sure that I'm "empty" or will that interfere with the surgery?

I had surgery on Monday. I had 2 days liquid pre-op diet but no citrite. I'm home a feeling good. I need a lot of rest, though. The gas pain was the worst for me. Sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk! Good luck!

Your lucky only 24hr liquid diet Im on a liquid diet for 2 wks I started on 1/1/13 and my surgery date is 1/14/13
