I'm an every day weigher. I need to know the number. It doesn't make me freak out, but a rise of 4lbs overnight has me wondering what I did the day before. I get the vent and I'm not going to pander with advice that I know you won't follow cause I wouldn't either. :P

Things I review are-- did I drink all my Water? Did I hit my Protein goal? Did I eat late, or have something carby after 7pm? Did I have anything salty? Did I...........Go? Did I exercise?

If I did everything right and all my answers are satisfactory to me, I shrug it off. It's how our bodies are and if I am going to weigh every day, I get to see this kind of stuff. If I find something that I probably mucked up, let that be a lesson to me to stop or start doing it.

Biggest culprit for me is making sure my bowels move and getting in all of my liquids. Don't stress... review. And if you're TRULY doing everything right, let yourself off the hook, give it a few days and you'll see the scale go back down.

For me, that number is instant feedback on how I lived life the day before. Sometimes it gives me a clue. Sometimes it's just my body being my body. MOST times, there is something I need to pay more attention to, even if it's just a hint that Mother Nature is about to cop a squat.

Pardon me, but I USED to have bowel movements. Now... even after Fiber and a million glasses of Water a day , nothing. I know it may contribute

I would try a daily dose of Miralax. It works wonders!

I regularly gain 7 pounds in anticipation of aunt flow. SEVEN POUNDS.

Also, I'm not sleeved yet, but I'm on 800 calories a day and I lost a lot of weight rapidly, then gained back a few pounds and then stalled for two weeks and I HAVEN'T been cheating on my diet.. The scale finally started moving again and I lost the pounds I gained plus another one. I've read through these forums I KNOW that stalls happen I know that it's normal.. but it's something that is supposed to happen to OTHER PEOPLE.. NOT TO ME!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
