steele160 9 Posted January 3, 2013 Hello sleeves! I am 21 days post op- 25 pound loss but I have not lost in about 4 days - a bit discouraged. I did something REALLy STUPID - I was snowed in and no one to help - so I shoveled - yep- not the best decision and found myself hurting in the main incision area. So, that was a few days ago and it is a bit better- but still far from healed. I find myself not being able to plain bottled Water and I am frustrated! I do not know if I drink to fast or what but it often burns... I need a few eating tips though I think Tuesday I get to onto the next stage of eating. This is definitely and I hope in a few months I will feel better about my decision! You all Rock! Thanks for "listening".
jen1211 203 Posted January 3, 2013 I'm 3 weeks out also and I have an easier time drinking Water when it's room temperature. Little by little I am trying to get it colder but the cold stuff still feels pretty heavy going down. This will eventually get better and we will be 'normal' except for our smaller portions (which should be normal) and not drinking with meals. Good luck and make sure to get some rest! I struggled a lot with getting in my Water. I still sometimes have a hard time with this. I drink G2 to help liven up my Fluid choices. Some people use those crystal light packets. I remember that I had to drink things at a tepid temperature for awhile. Try that. I love my sleeve and I remember feeling like I had some regrets within the first four weeks. It definitely got better for me. I hope it will for u too! Sent from my iPhone using VST

DUBrookie03 142 Posted January 3, 2013 I was initially super freaked about the Hair loss thing too, then I realized that I can afford to go buy hair extensions with all the money I'm NOT spending on groceries, fast food, ect. Don't sweat it, take 2000 mg of Biotin a day to keep the hair loss at bay. I'd rather be skinny with thin hair than fat with thick hair 1 SusieK710 reacted to this
steele160 9 Posted January 3, 2013 Biotin? What is it? I have never heard of it.. And I do well to even get down a Tylenol.. Taking meds are hard still yet- and the MD wants me to be on acidophilus. I told my sisters- who by the way will be doing this in February- I feel like a nut case. I do not even remotely feel like me :/ I was so so active before and I sing in a barbershop chorus tat is VERY active and am scared that I won"t be able to donut anymore .. I am rambling- sorry!! SusieK710 130 Posted January 3, 2013 Remember teenage PMS...that's what this is like. Hormone surges due to weight loss, and we can't self medicated with food like usual. Our stamina is down, Our world has changed, we are different now and see our friends and family differently. Follow Dr.s orders, rest, walk, drink. Find things to keep your brain busy. Game books like sudoku, I bought adult coloring books and paint by numbers, that a friend recommended! Stack of magazines and a handful of new books. Messy closets are the plan for the last week before returning to work. Dream, plan and breathe! This is the how the "change" happens! I warned my husband that they were taking away my pacifier so I may whimper and cry a bit!

This is definitely and I hope in a few months I will feel better about my decision! You all Rock! Thanks for "listening". All during my losing stage, I'd lose two lbs, gain three and lose two. I'd go up and down for about a week, then it would come off for good and on to the next one, two or three lbs. I weighed every single day, twice a day, but I never let it get me down. At support group meetings I'd hear people further out, some at goal, some not, say this is how it happens. Not a big deal. I did the up and down thing a lot more than I ever 'stalled'. I guess maybe one time I didn't lose anything for a week, then bam, two lbs gone. With 85% of your tummy gone, unless you are drinking your calories and eating no nos, you are going to lose. Enjoy the ride, it's wild! Stay away from snow shoveling!!! You might should call the doctor and let him know. Also, try Water with a little fresh lemon and add a sweet 'n low or stevia. It's the only way i can drink it.....and a lot of ice!!

Biotin, get it over the counter at Wal Mart. It's good for hair and nails. I started taking it a few months prior to surgery and I still take it. I never lost hair!
