Did they find the cause of it? And is it corrected

No explanation of the cause except maybe a faulty staple. Nothing I did wrong. Possibly because I'm way more nauseous and vomit a lot more than I should. It's better but not "corrected" it's hard to "correct" a problem like that. The leak itself is thought to be closed but being in the hospital do long and all the other things that have to be done to keep me alive are causing problems. Leaks are life threatening. It's a serious thing to think about.

I was in the hospital a month, I've been home a week, my first surgery was 11/19, my second was 12/1

I agree with what a lot of others are saying-if you feel maybe you could do this on your own then maybe you should try that route first. This is major surgery and not reversible. I know for myself that I can not do this on my own. I've done so many attempts the past 10 years and I can lose weight. However once my motivation wears off I gain it all back (plus more!) If I could be successful on my own I'd be 130 pounds and not 220! The way I look at it is this-the sleeve is simply a tool. I still have to do this myself. The weight isn't going to magically fall off of me once they wheel me into recovery, however this time with the hard work I put in will see results which will keep me motivated. There are risks involved and those are to be seriously considered, but I don't question my choice for a second. It's one thing to be scared and nervous and feel anxious (it is major surgery) but if you're questioning whether or not you should do this I don't think you're ready. Maybe you could see if your insurance covers supervised medical weight loss programs. The surgeon I am going to use works with a whole bariatric team and they offer a lot of options besides surgery-such as an intensive 14 week program and sometimes use medically prescribed medications to help patients lose weight. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
