December 19th sleevers

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow I go for my checkup. Thank goodness.

What happens on the first check up anyway?

When do these little strips of tape come off?

I was sleeved on the 19th and honestly I haven't even tried to worry with getting my Protein in.

I'm just trying to survive getting anything in at this point.

I throw up EVERYTHING. I literally throw up atleast twice a day.

Vitamins, Protein Drinks, u name it. The only thing I don't throw up is crackers. And thats not on the list, I know but I'm starving.

My mom cries all the time, everyone is thinks ive made a mistake. And honestly I miss my life.

Bile burns BTW...

I eat 1 bite and it feels stuck in my throat. Why bother weighing anything. 1 bite is not to much.

Im emotionally not doing well. I cried all day yesterday. This sucks!

Have you talked to your doc about all the vomiting? I was sleeved same day. I have been slightly nauseated on about two occasions. I also had hiatal hernia repaired. I don't eat a lot but I eat yogurt, pudding, etc. No issues. You shouldn't be vomiting like that. Do you take a proton pump inhibitor? Like Prilosec/omeprazol ? I take 40mg every morning. Man. That sucks. I hate you are having this kind of trouble. Doc needs to intervene. Cause you definitely need some help. I do not think you should be even remotely experiencing what all you are. Keep us posted and much best of luck wishes to you!

So I went yesterday. I had lost 16lb in 2 weeks. I was kinda disappointed considering all the vomiting I've done figured it would be more.

Anyway, we talked about the constant vomiting and they said 1 in every 10 people go through this. Lucky me! But that is should get better soon. And everything was fine.

I went to do some blood work to make sure I wasnt dehydrated. They are suppose to call me today with results.

I am officially on mushy foods. They said I can have anything I can mush with my folk! I am sooo excited!

I go by in 2 weeks for more bloodwork and a week after that for my next appt.

They also took my little bandages off. Can't believe how great they look. U can barely tell already.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
