What did you need after the sleeve?

I agree with the heating pad. It really helped when the gas moved between my shoulders.

Gas in your shoulders??

Gas in your shoulders??

The gas isn't literally in your shoulder.... But the referred pain in your shoulders is the worst!! The gas gets trapped in your belly under your diaphragm and sends pain to your shoulders.

I have not been sleeved yet, but I do know about the gas in the shoulder area, it is from the gas they put in your abdominal area so they can see what they are doing, used in laproscopic procedures. They draw as much out as they can, but sometimes you get the gas in the abdomen and pain in the shoulder area from the gas.

Walk walk and walk. I was up walking as soon as i got to my room. Helped with the pain and got things working. I am 6 weeks post and feel like a new person. Also measure everything you consume. Do not take in too much at one time. I am on regular food and need 135 grams of Protein daily. That is tough to do but I get close. Weight is still falling off. Cloths are an issue also. Nothing fits.

Is that more Protein than normal? My NUT said 60-70 grams a day, so just curious

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
