I used a bodybugg 2-3 years ago. Got down to 153. But, then started traveling for work, stopped wearing it, <big sigh> and now I am here. I gave a friend a FitBitt for XMAS 2 years ago. She loved it, her only complaint was it was so small she kept losing it. She just told me she is getting the new one since it can be worn on your wrist. She thinks she might avoid losing it.

Anyhow, I just dug out my bodybugg, charging it up and will add this to my weight loss tool chest. Thank you for the thread to remind me that this can help in my weight loss journey.

Mary

Thank You for starting this thread/topic. I just purchased a Fitbit on Amazon. I searched and found my two Weight Watchers pedometers this morning, both needed batteries, a trip to CVS for batteries, put them on and walked for three hours, got back home - null, nothing, nada recorded, and it took me forever to program them. Thanks to Fitbit I'm back in the 21st Century.

Where does one buy a fit bit one?

www.fitbit.com or Amazon.com

I bought my fitbit from fitbit. They have several new models now, unfortunately not all are named fitbit so it can be confusing.

I have fitbit, but there is the Zip and the One. A wonderful tool.

I am going to ask for a fit bit or something like it for my birthday. I am so excited to be able to track my workouts! And it also tells you how well you are sleeping. Very cool.

I love my fitbit one! Syncs to my phone and computer and to myfitnesspal wirelessly. Plus it charges with a little cord rather than a watch battery. It holds the charge for a couple of days and recharges very quickly.

Which is better: the fit bit or the fuel band? Please specify the pros and cons of each.

I have both, so here is my 'humble' opinion on both. :)

Nike fuel band:

Wears like a Bracelet - it can get wet any time you wash your hands. (I'm a hairstylist SO THIS SUCKS MAJOR BUTT) lol. Obviously, I can't use it on a daily basis for this reason.

Easy to use.

Lets you compete with others via Nike.

Keeps track of "fuel", calories, steps, and lights up pretty cool.

I love this thing...just the "my-hands-are-in-water-all-day"

Good news for any one wanting one - I will sell you mine for $100 and I pay shipping.

Fitbit:

Can put it in your pocket (bra, clip on belt, etc)

Links to MFP (automatically adjusts your daily calories according to their calculations - manually with nike fuel band.

Hope this helps.

I'm loving it. I was actually shocked to see how much I don't move durning the work day. I now make sure I get up and walk around every hour. I set a daily goal, so I try really hard to hit it everyday (not that I do, but I aim for it). I think it's the best investment I made in a long time.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
