I'm getting sleeved in June as well. I'm pregnant now (having a c section on February 26th).

Want to breast feed and try and loose at least 30-40 lbs before my surgery.

I'm probably going to have my surgery in late June to early July because I have to do a 6 month supervisor diet for my insurance and I'm only in my 2 month. I also what to have the whole summer to recover from surgery and go back to school and work at the end of August.

I also am in the same boat - just waiting because of the 6 month thing and just started on the 16th of jan at weight watchers and going every week for weigh ins with them and every month to weigh in with my dr.......sometimes i wish they just did a 3 month documentation :( oh well - hoping for june/july surgery

Jenner, I'm going to Mi Doctor also. I'm with Lopez, you? I'll be interested to keep up with you :)

The coordinator told me Lopez is gone every other week to some other city to work. That would make Ortiz your surgeon. I had originally been scheduled with him but had to move up my date for school reasons. I have looked into both quite a bit and would be very happy with either one :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
