You are not in this boat alone! I have periods of low energy, and times when I feel pretty good. I found that getting more calories and liquids in really helped me feel better. Also - treat yourself to something nice - like a pedicure. Getting out and about helps too. I think it's important to remember that this time will pass soon - that helped me big time.

Hang in there! It will get better...

Sleeved 12/17/12 and enjoying the adventure!

I was saying the same thing today. I was sleeved on 12/26 and still have not regained my energy. Today I was just trying to fold some clothes and felt my body getting so weak that I had to stop and lay down. Can't wait to regain my energy.

I have been reading that its pretty normal to feel weak. I was sleeved on Dec 13th and still feel weak. I even heard it can take like 2mths to feel better. I guess everybody is different. I do have to remind myself that I did have major surgery.

We were sleeved the same day. Where was your surgery? How are you doing?

I have lost 18 lbs since day of surgery. Not sure if that is good or not. Are you getting all the fluids in? Protien? I am still finding it is hard to do so. Have not really done much in exercise because of the fatique factor. Also my doctor fixed an umbilical hernia. Think that has taken a toll! Are you on an acid meds? My doctor did not subscribe one. Hope we get some energy soon. Are you still on puree foods?.

I was sleeved in Mexico. Im not getting all my Protein or fluids in. I havent done any exercise bc of being tired too. Ive lost 15lbs. Im 40yrs old, starting weight was 208lbs and now im 193lbs. Ill loose weight slower bc of a lower bmi. Im totally ok with that. Im kinda worried i'll loose too much. Tomorrow I start mushy food. Im not sure if im ready but ill try. I also had a hernia fixed. Im also on some acid med. The doc told me to take it for the next 3mths. Glad to know what im feeling is normal.

I was sleeved 12/12/12 and still have very little energy. I can get stuff done, but I would much rather just go take a nap. I am getting most or all of my liquids in daily and about 60 g Protein. I also had a hernia repair. I almost wish we were allowed coffee, I need a little pep in my step!

I had AMAZING energy week one. Like..I almost ran up the steps at my house, I felt so good. Then.... I hit a wall. I've been sleeping a lot the last few days. Today back at work and thankful I have a sit down job.

Hi 12/19/12 sleever. I am still on liquids till 1/31/13. Had hiatal hernia repair also. My doc didn't even give me a daily Protein goal which I am thinking is an oversight for now or either he knows I'm nit going to get it all in anyhow and just wants things to heal well...? I'm not that hungry so I can't complain and nothing really hurts enough to mention. The incisions pull some on left side but that's about it. Energy level is low but I have bad arthritis pain in back and knees so the weather is keeping me miserable there.

I think I must live close to you. Your surgeon is on Brodie Rd. I live in Circle C in Austin. I went to to Houston for my surgery. I was going to call the office on brodie and see if I could come to the support groups. Where did you have your surgery?

I actually live in Corpus Christi. My surgeon prefers the hospital in San Antonio so I went there for the actual surgery. He has an office in Corpus which is where I will go for support groups and stuff. Who was your surgeon in Houston?

I had been on liquids until yesterday. I was getting my Protein in with my shakes, but wasn't eating much else, just trying to hit Water goal. Yesterday I was allowed to start on mushies, so first thing I did was have a spoonful of Peanut Butter. I felt so much better!!! This morning I had 1/2 an egg. I have much more energy now that I can up my caloric intake (but not to much lol)!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
