Yup I'm supposed to take two per day too. I only take one per day, as my weightloss is incredibly slow and apparently people have developed gallstones when they have dramatic fast weightloss. Well my weightloss is not dramatic or fast - so I only take one

I'm the Queen of slow weight loss. Was on meds. Still had gallbladder issues and had it taken out 6 weeks after my VSG. :( So it's really just the luck of the draw.

I have the same weight on surgery day and the same surgery date. I think my slow weight loss is due to my leak. I was hospitalized for 9 days for the leak.

I can't even imagine another surgery at this point! My place of employment would flip! I'm sorry to hear you were hospitalized for 9 days (Sweetnye01) - do they know what caused it? How are you now? What were your symptoms?

Wait! What? That is NOT slow. I was 214 day if surgery Nov 7th and now I'm 185. You've lost 40lbs in less than two months! I'm not sure what you were expecting but that is far from slow weight loss!

My doctor didn't give me any meds for gallbladder and so far so good.

I'm in them too and forget sometimes but I totally agree. My loss is not fast but then again I don't want gallstones so I will keep on trying!

Does anyone know why weight loss causes problems with the gallbladder?

Ive always seen friends and family have gall bladder issues from weight gain, so the weightloss effect is new.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
