Sliming, nauseous after vitamins

Recommended Posts

This morning when taking my Vitamins I started sliming and felt as though I was going to throw up. Fortunately I didn't, but it kinda freaked me out. I am 3 weeks out and have not been nauseous once, even right after surgery, with the exception of this morning. I took my antacid and my Multivitamin with sips of crystal light, as I do every morning.

Anyone have this happen to them, or have any advice?

Sorry if this is a repeated post, nothing came up when I searched.

I struggled a bit with bariatric advantag chewables and have spoken with others who have the same experience. If you continue feeling bad consider switching Vitamins see if that helps. Of course check with your nut/doc. I use source of life adult chewable and split the dose am/pm. Just did my 1 year blood they were " remarkable" hope that helps! Happy new year !!!

my Vitamins are like horse pills, and it took weeks before I could swallow them. The smell alone made me sick

It was just odd Bc I have been taking my Vitamins regularly and nothing like this has happened before. It might have been just a one time thing and I'm freaking myself out for nothing.

I take Centrum Silver chewable and have no problems. The Vitamin that made my mouth feel yucky was the B12 sublingual. I changed over to B12 injection once a month and have had no other problems. If you ar not in the "silver" age bracket ( I am 51) then they have the regular Centrum chewable. Bariatric Advantage Vitamins are too expensive for me.

Turns out it had nothing to do with the Vitamins. Apparently now the smell of black eyed peas cooking makes me nauseous. Every time I went to the kitchen, I got sick. Asked my hubby to move the crockpot to the garage, and I haven't felt ill since.

Cataro are you swallowing the big pills? I had a pill get stuck once and slimed for hours after, it was awful! That may have been your problem. It could also have been the smell of the peas but I doubt that would have made you slime.

Cut your pills in half for a while.

They are the chewable kind. I break the big ones in thirds and chew each piece individually.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
