I'm day 5 and sick of the narcotics, but not quite good enough to take nothing for pain. Can I take a regular (liquid) Tylenol? I'm going to call my doc in a bit, but I hate bugging them on a vacation day...

Tylenol is fine, as are most of the other OTC pain meds for occasional use - aspirin, ibuprofin, naproxen (Aleve) and the like - though some docs are still stuck in the bypass world that limits one to Tylenol only, but the rationale for that doesn't apply to the sleeved stomach.

You can take anything but if you choose ibuprofen just be sure to take it with food.< /p>

Surgeon says no aspirin, ibuprofen or naproxen for me. Only Tylenol. The others are rough on a new tummy apparently.
