I was ALWAYS cold.. but now I'm ALWAYS frozen! I can't get warm no matter what I do, what I wear, or how many blankets and layers I have on... it's so frigid here on the east coast, last night, with heavy socks, slippers, a blanket and a heating pad on my feet they were so cold they hurt! My husband has taken to calling me his little ice cube... LOL

I am still hot! I'm a lil over two wks out 23 lbs down..... when will my cooling begin...can't wait!

It seems that you are the exception to the rule. It would be cool to know why some are so cold and some are not. I am sitting at work with a heating pad on my lap. Guess you can tell which group I'm in. LOL!

I read online that Ghrelin has some temperature regulating properties, so that might be it. Most of it is gone with the sleeve surgery.

Also, if you are dehydrated, you can feel pretty cold

I was always warm before surgery, but did notice for the first month or two after surgery that I was chilly fairly often. Now I'm back to being hot all the time. <_<

I was always FREEZING prior to surgery and was fully expecting it to be worse afterwards. I am happy to say, that so far (knock on wood) I don't notice any difference and I feel like I may even be a bit more normal now temperature wise. I was just sleeved 1/18, so we will see. Fingers crossed!!

I'm 32.5 lbs down and I still sweat like crazy. I getting my Iron regulated because it was low but I was a sweater before and still am. I can't wait for it to stop!!!! - it kind of gets embarrassing when I'm in stores, teaching, in the grocery store etc.

I had surgery in Aug and I live in South Tx. It's 80 degrees here this time of year and I am STILL FREEZING. I am so cold it's painful. My legs ache and I'm just plain icy lol. Doesn't matter how many clothes I have on. And I feel bad because my daughter sweats all night so I have to make sure I don't let it get above 72-73 at night.

Surgery Date 8-02-12 weight: 330 present weight: 220

I'm in Sydney Australia and a couple of weeks ago we were sweating through a heatwave of more than 40 degrees C, which converted is "freaking hot". I was still sleeping with pjs on and a blanket. We are having torrential rain and flooding tonight and I have unpacked all my winter clothes from when I was fat. My mum thinks I'm mental.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
