All of my December sleevers...

Recommended Posts

I just jumped down off of a stall (s word!) and lost 3 pounds in one day - I am starting to believe that the body just does what it wants to, when it wants to, and you just have to look at the long run!

You're right. One day I'm 2 pounds higher, the next back down 2 pounds, then the next 1 pound lighter, then 2 pounds higher...if you graphed it it would be zig zaggy but at a definite downward motion.... :)

Surgery was 12/21 and down 28 pounds. Some days it doesn't move, some it drops considerably. Never hungry, but never ever know what to do at 930 pm when my brain wants to eat. Trying not to compare weight losses, but 28 pounds in under 3 weeks - is that normal?

I'd be thrilled with 28 pounds in 3 weeks! I was on the 21st too and I'm only down 18. What does your daily menu look it? How many calories? I'm worried I'm eating too much ( 600-800 calories daily).

Congratulations!

~Dana

I called my doc asking about insomnia. I just cant seem to sleep at all. I am extremely tired but can't sleep. In addition I mentioned that my legs and arms are aching. He said I need to push the fluids. How do y'all manage to drink your 64oz of Water?

Most days I don't make it to 64oz. Usually really close though

I have a 20 oz cup with a straw... and I usually end up drinking about 3 1/2 of those during the day...

Do y'all feel nauseas when you drink?

Yes, everytime I drink I get this nausea/hunger feeling for a minute or two then it passes until the next sip. The only thing that doesn't do that is Welch's cran-grape juice but it's packed with sugar so can't do much of that. I have been taking prilosec 40mg daily, saw doctor today and he switched me to 20mg twice a day, hoping that helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
