I am impressed that it took about six months for you to get your appetite back. i've had mine since about 1 month post-op. It doesn't mean that I could eat just anything' date=' but it means that I would have cravings. That definitely complicates things. Since you are a year plus post op, how close are you to your goal now? Have you made it to a happy place weight-wise? I do realize that for some of us (probably me included), it will take more than a year to get off the weight I want.[/quote'] My weight at the start of the program was 460. My last weigh in January was 361. My goal is 250 which would be 20 lbs above HS in 1973. The scale moves slow but down from 60W to 54w and 6x to 3x. I got my appetite before 6 months but my program encourages you to stay on the liquid diet longer than most others.

Hi all! Everyone is doing great! I just had my 3 month Anniversary on March 10.

Down a total of 75.8, 43.8 of that since surgery.

Overall feeling very well. I was able to get sledding with my 2 year old this year. I have a collar bone and hop bones (who knew? ;-)).

My appetite is definitely back. Wish I was a sleevers who didn't get hungry or who's some foods didn't agree with anymore. I haven't had a thing yet thay "chewie" doesn't like.

Which I guess isn't bad but mentally it makes it hard for me bc i know I can still have it.

I have my 3 month f/u this Friday. I knoe they are going to say I'm losing slow but I honestly don't care. I'm done almost 44lbs in 3 months. Not too shabby ;-).

Here is the link to the summer challenge...: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/73185-challenge-1st-day-of-summer-weigh-in/

I participated in the Spring Challenge so I made one for summer...

I would love to be 165 by june 1st. I am currently 184, but since I am a really slow loser, 165 may be a little ambitious. To be honest, given the kind of feedback I get from the doctor and NUT (practically nothing), I really don't feel like i have much control over how much I lose, but dare to dream.

Sleeved 12/26' date=' down 47 lbs, 0.6 more lbs to be in onederland. I've had ups and downs the past 4 weeks...very frustrating but this past week I've been on the down. Hoping it continues. Doctors appointment tomorrow morning, I would love to only have to move the bottom weight to 150 (on a non digital scale) instead of starting on the 200 weight. Fingers crossed and water bottle in hand I'm hoping to be a permanent resident of onederland starting tomorrow. Then on to the next goal...175 by June 1st. Wishing y'all loss and happiness.[/quote']

Well I am overly excited to report, I did it. I am in onederland!! I can't believe it, I really made it. I'll have a little more zip in my step today.

Sadlers,I have to agree! I feel like as long as we do all the things we are supposed to, we really don't have a lot of control over how fast we lose. I do think we could do things to slow weight loss down by grazing, overeating, not exercising, etc, but once you do everything right, it's out of our hands. Some people will just lose slower than others, and some people will go through periods of stall or slow loss then go through periods of faster loss - for no apparent reason. Once I realized I can only do so much, I stopped feeling so pressured. I am grateful for every pound lost, and grateful for every day I am able to stay in control of my diet and exercise! And of course, I also dare to dream - can't blame a girl for that!

NSV: INCHES LOST. Well, it's been 8 weeks and the scale has not moved downward. It is very frustrating. I am meeting with my NUT next week. Am I destined to be a 'slow looser'?

Anyway, my friend measured me and I lost 4.25 inches in those weeks, but honestly, I feel I look the same. I have only gone down 1 size, from a 24 to a loose 22.

Tomorrow, I'm going back to liquids for a week, if I can do it.........and try to bump my Water way up.

Any other suggestions from you rapid loosers??????

Not a rapid loser but slow and steady. I average about 2 lbs a week now. Hit onederland today! Met with the nutritionist and PA yesterday. She increased my calories from 800 to 1000. Sounds great but I still have a hard time getting it all in and drinking all my Water. She suggested adding a shake as an evening snack to bump my calories and liquid.

Apparently I am blessed with a really small sleeve. I almost have an aversion to food. She assured me that many people feel this way at 3 months but most are out of this phase by 6 months. So take advantage of it now while eating is a chore.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
