Sleeved on 12/17 and down SEVEN pounds. Reviewed diet and exercise with doc today and I am not doing anything "wrong.". It's just my stupid-slow metabolism.

Dec 14 down 20lbs.

Y'all need to remember that some stalls are due to not enough intake to where the body goes into starvation mode and becomes defensive about letting go of anything. Try try and keep trying to get your required intake of Protein.< /p>

You did really good on your pre op wt loss! Keep up the good work. Tomorrow I'll be a week post op but so far only lost 5.4-5.6

Lbs since surgery. I'm ready to see some bigger numbers

This is my first post so I have to start somewhere. :) From my highest weight the week before surgery (12/3) to today, I have lost 58 lbs! The week of liquids before surgery took care of 22 lbs but I have been super excited to have lost so much the first month. Even though I still have quite a bit to lose, I'm optimistic.

The number one thing I have made sure to do is WALK everyday! Today I did 3.56miles. I am finding I am super hungry (probably due to high calorie burn). I

am doing three shakes a day and get to start weight training tomorrow (2wks post-op, only allowed to loft up to 25lbs for next month). I am also doing creamy Soups (strained). And K2O Water Protein mixes.

I am trying to keep the weight loss momentum moving forward (praying for no stalls!).

You will get there! Just takes focus and movement.

Good luck :)

Once again, we get conflicting info from our doctors...not one standard answer...I was told NOT to lift anything heavier than 20 lbs (in every day life) and absolutely no weight lifting until the beginning of February (end of January/end of 6 week period). Walking yes. Weights no.

Every doctor is different. My advise is to follow YOUR physicians recommendations. My doctor has sleeved many former professional athletes (myself one) and has had huge success with them. He (my doc) also has a much more rigorous nutrition plan than most, but the results are incredible.

I only shared what I am doing because people have asked. I am not suggesting that anyone lift weights unless specifically directed to do so by his/her doctor. I am suggesting WALK. Everyone can walk to get started on excellerating the process.

Sleeved on 12/4 with a preop weight (no pre-op diet) of 239.9 and today I was 209. I had my lap band removed and the sleeve done. I had about a 1 week stall when I advanced to real food.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
