kpaige77 49 Posted December 31, 2012 So i am on my full liquids phase (13 DPO) and thinned grits is on my paper from the Nut. i just found a packet of cheddar cheese flavored instant grits in my pantry. do you think this is okay???? i haven't been able to eat anything since last friday except a total of 1c Tomato Soup diluted with Water and apple juice diluted with water. i am sooooo sick of the Protein chicken broth and i've developed a bad lactose intolerance so the milk Protein Shakes are not happening! i know it's not a good thing but i've basically just stopped eating. tired of trying things and having it come back up.this packet of grits sounds super yummy but not sure if it is okay! DianaE 128 Posted December 31, 2012 well unfortunately you wont know what you can toloerate if you do not try it. I ate grits but i have toloerated most things I have ate. All I can suggest is to eat new things slow.. Take a bite.. let it sit for a minute.. see how it feels.. feels ok, take another.. Sorry you have been having trouble eating. It should get better for you as time passes.
kpaige77 49 Posted December 31, 2012 thanks for the feedback. i am just so paranoid of little pieces of food getting stuck in my staple line. i know i am going to hear it from my nut when i go on wed!!! she is pretty hardcore about getting your Protein in an i am getting under 10g a day if even that. dar1983 751 Posted January 1, 2013 I wouldn't mind some grits now and then. But the carb count is kinda high...

Ola Tess 21 Posted January 1, 2013 Thinned cream of wheat was on my full liquid diet and its made up of little particles like grits. Had no problem. In fact it's the thing I ate Every morning!!
bigjoe 2 Posted January 1, 2013 Switch from regular milk to Almond Milk. It helped me a lot. I had grits, too, at 10 post op. I was at a point where I needed something more than I was getting from the creamed Soups & broth.
