Why do they have to take blood from the artery in your wrist also what is that dye thing you have to drink after surgery? Very curious

Not sure about a blood sample from the wrist, but the dye is to check for a leak. That can be life threatening. My surgeon actually ran the dye through at the end of surgery so I didn't have to actually swallow it.

Oh ok thanx..and as far as the pulmonary they took blood from and artery in my wrist and then I had to breathe and make puffs which they calculated and all ....just wondering what that blood from the artery was about?

The test is an Arterial Blood Gas (ABG), it shows the amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide in your blood. This is necessary in order to test lung function, especially given the fact that your will be under general anesthesia.
