How much time should you wait after surgery to get a lift/augmentation? I'm 5 months out and down 45 pounds. My breasts are shrinking and it's driving me crazy.

Until you have finished what you need to lose. Usually maintaining for a little does not hurt, but once you reach goal, you can meet with a surgeon and discuss options.

The waiting until you finish losing is because we can't determine exactly where the weight will come from when we lose. Usually all over, but may be more from hips, butts, thighs, and the inevitable boobs.

Hope this helps. :)

Congratulations on the weight loss!

I was a 38F back in 06 until I had a reduction to a 38DD. My plastic surgeon told me that my breasts were fibrous and wouldn't get smaller if I lost weight. He was wrong. They used to be nice and full and now they're those ski slope kind where they just sort of go down and then tip back up. I hate them. My husband says its no big deal but it is to me. He said that as soon as I'm ready he'll buy me some new boobs. Good man! :)

I too want a boob job and am going to get one once I have reached my goal and maintained it for 3 months...I have always had smaller boobs and I was cool with them for the most part...Now as I lose weight they are hanging more than I can appreciate so I am going to go bigger and prop them babies back up where they were intended to be...

I went from 44dd to 40c in 7 months!! My training bras were 38c at age 12, lol!! Definitely a lift in my future.

Your skin will continue to shrink for up to 2 years. I'd recommend waiting till then.

Please just make sure to tell your plastic surgeon that you had weight loss surgery. You don't want to have it done and then find it was done too early and you need more surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
