I eat cheese sticks and almonds... I need a good portable snack with Protein and little to no carbs... Anyone? Bueller?

I'm interested in hearing from the vets, too!

I am also interested. I have to pack my lunch for work, and need some good ideas. Very physical job working on a job site, and always on the go. Not very convenient for lunches.

My NUT said not to eat nuts! I think that's crazy!

I'm relying too heavily on Protein bars right now and know I can't do that long term due to the carbs and calories.

I have a refrigerator at work, but a short time for breaks. Would love to have a stash of quick things so I'm not tempted by the evil vending machine! lol

I think every nut is different, because mine told me nuts are a go. Wish they could all just agree lol.

Pepperoni chips!! Take turkey pepperoni and put it between 2 paper towels, pop it in the microwave for 30-60 seconds (watch them because they burn easily), when they come out/ cool they are nice and crispy like chips- bet you can't have just one!! 73 calories and 9.3 grams of Protein in 17 pieces, probably can't eat that many, but half a serving at a time? :)

Jerky, turkey meat balls, chicken nuggets, hot wings, yogurt (carbs really vary from brand to brand on all of these so be careful), sliced cheddar and an apple, shrimp, string cheese, luch meat/cheese rollups, hard boiled eggs... I stick most of these things in sandwich bags as I am running out the door to some event such is the life of a mother of 4 ;-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
