I'm so bummed. I'm 4 weeks out and I haven't really lost anything this week or last week. I started off at 228 (day of surgery) and I'm at 207 now. I am hardly able to eat so I know that I'm not really getting in much calories. My 20 month old eats more than I do. I just dont know what I'm doing wrong.

You aren't ding anything wrong. Your body is just catching up ... you are going through what's called a stall. Were you not told about them by your DR or NUT?

No but I had read about it on here. I just want to get past this and start up the weight loss again.

Dont worry - you just hit the classic 3rd week stall. Search the forum for that term and you'll see you are not alone and that the weight loss will resume with a vengence again! :)

Hang in there, you will probably go through several stalls in your journey. I know they are frustrating, but don't let them discourage you. My doctor never mentioned stalls and if it wasn't for this forum I would have felt like a total failure when the first one hit.

I too had the three week stall and now again I have been in a stall for 11 days. I am going to be 16 weeks out tomorrow. It is very frustrating I know but we need to hang in there and know that the weight loss will continue.

Thanks for responding ladies! Its good to know that I'm not doing anything wrong (although I could probably incorporate some more cardio!) and that its normal. :)

Also if you consider you have lost over 20 lbs in one month. That is great in itself. You also don't want to lose too fast, just for your skin's sake. :) I'm losing about 10 lbs per month and I'm 8 months out. It's a good pace for me. So sounds like your off to a great start. Be happy. It will come off.

I am right there with you, but after looking at other posts it seems to be normal. We just need to look at the bright side - we have lost weight and will start to lose again.

So is it possile to be at a stall for 2 or more weeks? I am at 7 weeks and have been at the same weight within a couple of pounds since week #5. Frustrated to say the least.

Well, this morning I finally hit the 40lb mark! My surgery was on Nov. 8th so that puts me at 7 and a half weeks out. I hope that this is the break in my stall.

Hit the search function for "stall" or "3rd week stall" or a variation thereof. It happened to all of us and has been discussed almost to death LOL!

My best advice, like another poster mentioned above, just focus on your monthly weight loss - you will probably start to have an average monthly loss, maybe starting at 10 pounds or more a month or higher, depending on your starting weight. But as your BMI lowers, the average will lower too. I try to weigh myself only once a week, same time. Sometimes the scale reads that I lost .5 or 1 lb., then the next weigh-in will be -3. It's crazy! I'm not doing anything different from one day to the next, but the results are happening - at the end of the month when I think I haven't lost much, when I see the total number it's like a shock, I thought I was only losing a pound or two! It does catch up - if you are getting in your Protein, Vitamins and Water, there's no way you can't lose! We are all winners in 2013! Happy New Year!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
