Dose anyone know if we can drink gatorade

Recommended Posts

Not on my plan but everyone seems to have a diff set of rules.. How about Powerade zero or a sugarfree alternative. If you need some kind of sugar though try V8 diluted 1:2 or apple juice diluted 1:5

Feel really weak can we drink Gatorade

I was able to do Gatorade G2, the low cal, low sugar. That went down fine. Grape or berry was my fav, it really helps with your electrolytes

Smart Water as just as much electrolytes as Gatorade and its just water so that might help....

I lived on Propel for a while, so I'd imagine any sugar free version of Gatorade would be just fine.

If you had the surgery very recently (which I'm guessing you did), I think a little VERY WATERED DOWN Gatorade would be fine. I had some Vitamin Water and Vitamin Water Zero after surgery, as my mom was scared I wasn't getting enough water or calories. However, keep in mind that sooner than you think you'll be able to eat and drink almost anything -- and you don't want Gatorade to be a big part of your diet then, so don't get "hooked." (Or avoid it if it you think this is a big possibility.)

I remember when I was feeling really miserable one day I went to a soda fountain and got 1/8 of Lipton Raspberry Ice Tea with lots of ice and water. Lifted my spirits and tasted like heaven, but I wouldn't do that now that I don't "need" it. Hope that helps.

G2 and Propel zero were life savers right after surgery.

I really like the Powerade Zero. G2 has a lot more carbs. I don't know the names of the flavors, but the blue, purple and red are pretty darn good.

I like the propel zero powder packets and add it to smart Water. It is slightly less sweet(due to ratio), but has been a lifesaver to get all my fluids in!

I don't know if I was ever supposed to drink Gatorade but I did and still do. It was a lifesaver. But I chose to drink G2.

I had Pedialite (the grape is the best) the 1st few weeks after surgery bc I felt so weak. It really helped, but I knew I couldn't do it long term.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
