scorpio2479 237 Posted December 29, 2012 So before being sleeved I read a lot of sleevers say they do not get hunger pains or crave sweets anymore. Well I for one still get the hunger pains so to speak & I still crave sweets. I cannot indulge in sweets nor do I have intentions of doing so,but the craving is still there. Holly5.3 423 Posted December 29, 2012 My stomach growls and belches letting me know when it's empty-it kind of feels like hunger pains but a little different. Make sure you get Protein in all day. As soon as my protein wears off I feel it. For me, 10 grams of protein gets me through one hour. My Premier shake has 30 grams and takes me from 6-9am every day. Greek yogurt gets me through to lunch. I hate the rumbling my tummy makes but I'm trying to use it as another tool for my success-it's my nutrient gage now. As far as craving sweets, I don't-I'm craving veggies which my tummy will not accept! Never, ever thought I'ld say that! 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this

Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted December 29, 2012 You may not be hungry at all. Stomach acid does mimick hunger. this might be a good time to call your surgeon's office and ask them if they could prescribe or recommend a PPI for you. A PPI is nexium, prilosec, tagamet, etc. Now the craving for sweets is head hunger so this is them time to challenge your head hunger to kick the triggers for sweets. It's not easy but if you start now working on it, you will succeed in the long run.. And your tummy will be growling for a very long time.....LOL
lilbearzmom 584 Posted December 29, 2012 I have never been a belcher! Now it's almost constant!!! And the stomach growling my kids hear it across the room! My 8 year old told me my tummy sounded like a "dog". I'm assuming he meant the growling. LOL! It hasn't been growling much lately, but around day 5-6 it sounded angry! -Kendra

Holly5.3 423 Posted December 29, 2012 I have never been a belcher! Now it's almost constant!!! And the stomach growling my kids hear it across the room! Per my surgeon I take a Pepcid at bedtime and my prescribed PPI in morning to help with the belching. It really is annoying! At least I no longer snore- betweenthe burping and snoring I'ld sound like a 3-piece band!
Eat That Frog 53 Posted December 29, 2012 I absolutely have hunger although it is not as severe as before surgery. Sometimes sipping some Water will help, if not usually just a few bites of something is all it takes to satisfy me. I keep Protein bars handy for this reason. The doctors may tell you that you won't be hungry after surgery, but that isn't the case for everyone. As to the sweets craving, that is my biggest obstacle. There are lots of sugar free options, but I know the best solution long-term is to eliminate them, even SF. Good luck!
