I've been reading any info I can find on Dr. Alvarez. I really like everything I've read about him, but I'm also scared that it could all be a crazy hoax (only b/c that's my luck w/things!) Is there anything you've read about him that worried you? And how hard was it to get financed? Thanks so much for the help!

One more thing, I'd LOVE to hear how everything goes for you after the surgery:) Good Luck!! You'll do great!

I am post op. everything went perfectly. Dr A runs a great program... I'd go to him again and again. I wish he was my PCP!

It was hard for me to get financed because I don't have the best credit. Endobariatrics only works with one finance co and the finance price is higher than the cash price. Cash is 8700, finance is 9100. Contact Susan, his coordinator. She is also sleeved so she has the inside scoop on what will happen during your surgery.

A blurb from my blog "By reading on a message board, I found out about lendingclub.com . I applied Friday and 5 days in I'm funded 46.67%. My ID is Member_1512427 in case you decide to go that route. I applied for $6000 and at a B4 credit rating, my interest is 13.11% for a 36 month loan. The payments will be $202.xx the price of a used car. It is peer to peer lending and individual investors contribute to the loan."

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
