Ok Guys Experiment Tunafish/Babyfood!

Recommended Posts

:)Ok Guys Experiment Tunafish/Babyfood! Ok I did and experiment last nite with a coke bottle turned upside down into a glass like a funnel. I was just wanting to see how long the hourglass effect would take to work, I know its a lame way to go lol but hey I'm very optimistic and have to use what tools I have, so anyways I first poured babyfood into my coke bottle and within minutes all the food was out of the bottle and into the glass. So the hourglass effect worked for babyfood going through the bottleneck, so my next experiment was tunafish on the bottom with some green beens on the top i ran that through the blender first and made sure it was somewhat juicy before putting it in the bottle, well all I can say is that the tuna for the most part stayed in the bottle even after I poured Water on the top hoping it would make it fall out? But it didn't even after a full hour it remained so what do you think guys lame experiment or will the band be similar to the bottleneck?

It's certailnly an amusing experiment, but the difference betweem the bottle and the band is that the band also has the help of stomach acids to break down the food.

So if you look at it that way, it may suggest that eating mushed up tuna and green Beans may take longer to go through meaning that you may be saited for longer?

I'm no scientist but that is a different look on it. I don't know if I can eat babyfoods, the thought is not an entirely pleasent one. I know when I was feeding my son, I wouldn't be nicking spoonfuls of his food like some of my friends did. Maybe I'm missing out lol.

Let me know what conclusions you come up with, with your experiments

I guess your rite with the fact that some stomache acids would come up to help, and really it should take a while for the solid foods to hourglass out if it was working properly perhaps I just wasn't patient enough but my wife was ready to kill me for making the kitchen and living room smell like tuna and babyfood so I had to end the experiment within an hour lol.

There's also the body's movement to push the food through, which the Coke bottle doesn't have. The esophagus and stomach work to actively move through the system, and it's the band that slows that process down. It's not supposed to stop it completely, though, and that's what you're seeing with the Coke bottle.

These visuals will stay with me a while, sad to say. Yuck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
