stomlin75 161 Posted December 27, 2012 A robe, laptop/ipad/kindle, a brush, comfy pants that have a loose waist, and your own pillow.
jen1211 203 Posted December 27, 2012 number one is your fave chap stick...so dry in the hospital!!! I also brought a robe (I personally felt more comfortbly covered with my own), my cell phone with charger, and slippers. Might want to wear slip on shoes to the hospital too and the slip on slippers otherwise you have to ask for help (which I don't like to do). Good luck! Traci J. 207 Posted December 27, 2012 Robe, socks, chapstick, gas-x strips, cell phone .....you will sleep most of the time you're in there, when you're not walking and sipping that is. Good luck!!
kristenetsirk 2 Posted December 27, 2012 slippers that you do not have to bend over to put on....number one thing! Your gonna be walking alot to get rid of gas and having comfy slippers you can just slip on is so helpful.
delta_girl 931 Posted December 27, 2012 A little pillow. It is as valuable as chapstick and toothbrush. Hold it over your tummy after surgery. Use it to prop against in your chair. Use it as a soft buffer when laying down. It gives soft, gentle support. A full size one may be too big (it was for me).
Tamara Carter 22 Posted December 27, 2012 Ask your doctor for a abdominal binder when you get out of surgery. Mine helped with pain and allowed moving around much easier. I also took my favorite stuffed animal and baby blanket just cause I never leave home for an overnight without them.
Lhollingsworth 54 Posted December 27, 2012 My heating pad made my stay at the hospital. Be sure to pack one! It helped so much when the gas settled in between my shoulder blades. Seriously, if you don't have one - have someone pick one up for you and bring it to the hospital!
