RobbiesGirl 14 Posted December 27, 2012 I am 3 weeks out (12/5/12) and just started experiencing pain in my left shoulder. It seems to get worse after I eat. I am thinking it is gas, but I seriously thought I would be passed that by now. I have had minimal discomfort, am working hard to get in about 50 gm of Protein, 64 oz of Water and my Vitamins. Most days I reach these goals. Any thoughts on this? Oh and when I take gas x strips it subsides but doesn't go away completely.

Traci J. 207 Posted December 27, 2012 Sounds like gas pain and it's just referring up to your shoulder. Massage your stomach after you eat, see if that helps any. Are you on a antacid like prevacid or something? That should keep the gas down also.
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted December 27, 2012 It has to do with a nerve in your stomach that radiates up to your shoulder. I had it on and off for 5 years with my lapband. I no longer have this pain(though it was a dull pain).
cataro 39 Posted December 27, 2012 I had the same thing for about a week immediately post op. it was pretty miserable. Gas x and a heating pad on my stomach ans shoulder really helped.
RobbiesGirl 14 Posted December 27, 2012 Wow. 5 years?!? I hope this goes away soon. Lol. I am not taking any Prevacid or anything like that. I am gonna try and avoid that if I can. Will continue to use gas x and heating pad. Just glad it isn't a heart attack. Lol
