When we went it wasn't checked. Just ID/passport. I think the medical transport gets you back in faster and of course nothing is checked going into Mexico.

I would just make sure that the name on the prescription med matches your ID and you should be OK.

I had no issues, with anything, checked my passport and I was good to go:)

When we came back through from Tijuana to the US, the border guard made us show him all of the medication we were given for our surgery. I have him my pain meds and he gave them back and said they were fine. Everyone's passport was checked and the guard did a facial verification with each one of us. Then we were good to go (after a two hour wait in traffic!!). This happened on Sunday, December 16, 2012.
