milk of magnesia

I've been really constipated, I had surgery on 12/10 and Ive only gone once but it was a very small amount. My doctor told me to take stool softeners but it hasn't worked. I've seen others on here talk about milk of magnesia, so I bought some today thinking finally I'll have some relief! But omg!! It's disgusting! I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth! I got the Walgreens brand, do they all taste the same? Is there a different brand that might be better? Like I said I'm super constipated and really uncomfortable sorry if this sounds like a stupid question! Thanks guys :-)

It tastes horrid but it works the best and quickest. Just take it and then take a drink of gatorade or anything u wish...if you really need relief its the best solution.

But yep they all taste icky.
