Is it possible to find true love?

Recommended Posts

I've been watching Once Upon a Time, and they talk alot about true love. I've experienced teenage love, but my boyfriend cheated on me several times. I ended up being a teenage mom also. I've moved away and have been single for about 10yrs. I'm 34 now, and wonder if I'll ever find true love. I'm hoping that once I have the sleeve, I'll lose weight and be more "desirable." Though, I really want someone to love me for me, thick or thin? Where are guys out there like that, if any? Tired of being single.

When I say "desirable" I mean physically. I'm cute, and have a great personality. I'm just fat. :(

True love may be possible, but realistically it may not. The first thing you have to do is be happen with yourself. Just because you are fat, doesn't mean you are not "desirable" you have to be confident and go out there and stun the world. What have you been doing to find your mate? Do you go out? Online dating?

No one else can love you if you don't love yourself. I found the love of my life when I was 468 pounds. He loves me for everything that I am and nothing that I am not. I can not wait until June 21, 2014 when I become his wife.

Well, I've tried online dating with different sites and no one contacted me that I was interested in. The ones that I were interested in were not in me. I think because of my weight. I work and come home. I do go out, buy that's to shop.

Congratulations! I'd like to think I love myself. I mean, I'm not happy with my weight, but not sure what else I can do.

There are men out there interested in plus size women, believe me this I know. What online sites did you go on? There are dating sites dedicated to plus size women and their admirers. Did you post multiple photos? What about your profile message? Feel free to email me, I could provide some pointers. :)

I did several: interracial match, match.com, eharmony, Christian mingle, plenty of fish, and the other free one, can't remember the name. Someone told me about plus size dating sites. The only thing about that is that I don't want a chubby chaser. I want someone to love me for me. Any tips you have feel free to private message me. :) I'm open to suggestion. Thanks.

Fishy, I didn't find them physically or intellectually attractive. In addition, there were some with incomplete profiles or seemed suspect. One guy had a spelling issue. I'm educated, and that was a pet peeve of mine. One guy's photo looked as if he was in his mom's basement. I just didn't get contacted by someone I felt was interested in getting to know me for me, and was on my level intellectually.

I found it. This one is stuck with me- and I'm stuck with him. Hell- his mom told me even if we split up- she's claiming me. I got married and divorced young. I was in love with the idea of being in love. Now- I can't imagine my life without who I am with now. We compliment each other in every aspect- and have the best communication I could ever ask for. And I met him at my highest weight. He loves me for me- not for my awesome body.. (why oh why is there not a sarcasm font?!). You will find someone when you least expect it!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
