I've been reading the threads looking for information about meeting people. It looks like aside from internet sites or meetup groups, that's about the only options? How do people meet each other?

In the past, I met relationships through my jobs. But I've worked in HR for a company with 200 people for five years now so that isn't an option for me. I've been raising my 14 year old twins as a single parent for years and all their activities expose us to families. Plus between work and their activities, time is constraining. I'm not comfortable using internet sites. A few of my friends have met their SO's that way and are happy. My friends are all married and don't have single friends to meet.

How do single parents do it?

I'd recommend getting out and doing things you like to do. Bowling. Library. Pool (billiards or Water :) ). Whatever your hobby is. Or was. Or would like to be.

Know what you'll find there? Other people who like to do the same thing!

Good luck!

I understand, I did go on a interracial date site and I met a nice man but he lost interest after 6 months. And we are still friends. But my girlfriend met someone and now getting married. So it depends, you have to be careful. There is a lot of single parents like us. Good luck:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
