Liquid Protien?

Recommended Posts

I have heard there is a liquid form of protien that you take in one shot and it gives you all you need for the whole day. Does anyone know what it's called or where to buy it?

There are several, but my Dr. said they aren't that great because your body can only absorb so much Protein at once so it's kind of a waste.

Those kind of Protein Shots don't work for us. For one, our bodies can't absorb all of it at once. Plus the kind of Protein they put in those things isn't the kind we need. I would find a flavored protein you like, I've heard that nectar makes some good flavors. Merry Christmas

Yes, the Protein in those shots are from collogen, they are not bio available, and also can cause dumping. whey protein concentrate, or whey protein isolate are the best types, so to speak. You can't absorb more than 30-35 grams of protein at a tiem anyway, there is a section on one of the forums under Protein Shakes where you can order tons of samples. I ordered a bunch to try them all, and then ordered the protein I liked best from the samples. Good luck!

well that kind of Protein is a "last resort" type of protein, but you can buy New Whey in Walmart for like 2.50 a piece, and they also have it in 6 packs. It also comes in several different flavors. If you are absolutely struggling to get in your protein, its a good way to catch up. But i would not use it as my only source of protein.

It appears that that the "Yes Whey" Protein shot sold by Bariatric Advantage is a better choice over the "New Whey" bullets. The collagen protein used in "New Whey" has a PDCAAS score of 0.08 out of 1 where the 100% pure whey protein used in "Yes Whey" has a score of 1 out of 1.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
