yes most definitely will keep u in prayer.... Heavenly Father i pray for my sister and that she will be healed.... Comfort and strengthen her as she continues to heal. Lord let her know that no weapon formed against her shall prosper and that You will never leave nor forsake her even during this time of her life.... Give her daily strength to keep pressing on and a healthy 2013. In the name of Jesus Amen

Hugs and keep us posted

I was hospitalized 3 times and 3rd was for a week. I don't have FVL but I ended up with a uti and kidney stones from the dehydration. It's soooo hard to get fluids in...forget about the Protein and drink Gatorade until u can tolerate more. It gets better promise! Praying for you!

I also had the dehydration due to the runs. My doctor fever me codeine which I took daily for a week and this helped bind things and dry up the runs so that I could start rehydrating. I also only pee'd once a day and that was because I forced myself to, the feeling of needing to urinate escaped me until I cleared the runs and hot more fluids in. Merry Xmas eve XXxxx

I had my surgery 12 days ago but was re-hospitalized only two days after leaving from dehydration. Lost 11 pounds in 3 days. But they kept me in for 3 days.

Scary part is that I'm still not drinking much and I barely got a few oz of Protein these past 5 days. Hoping I dont end back in the hospital.

Praying for you and hope all gets better!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
