stomlin75 161 Posted December 23, 2012 Ok, it's been 2 1/2 weeks now of full liquids and I am seriously sick of it. I want to chew something with substance. I want to eat some fish. I want to eat an egg. I can't beleive the nurse coordinator for the program I am in makes all patients wait 3 weeks before we can even have something pureed. I have read so many other people's regimens that allow purees by the second week, some even earlier. I don't understand why there are such wide variations in post op diets. I am a health researcher, specializing in quality improvement, I feel like I have a great next area to study. I mean, seriously, this is ridiculous. Clearly, I am not a happy camper right now, sorry. I am stalled out, not really hungry but also not really satiated either. It's such a blah feeling and sometimes I just wish I could have 1 day of normal, just 1. I know this is what I signed up for and I need to suck it up. This first month is a b***h.

HeatherHRN 1 Posted December 23, 2012 I've actually done the same thing. After I did, I felt that need to chew something went away. Also, if you're tolerating your full liquid diet okay- try something soft. My physician assistant told me to advance myself as tolderated- just small bites and chew chew chew! Alabamasleever 58 Posted December 23, 2012 I'm right there with you. Actually posted about it earlier. I was sleeved 12/17, wanting something to 'feel' in my mouth. I also have chewed and spit, mine was pizza rolls. Right or wrong, it was very satisfying! I've also heard of someone chewing cheetos because of the crunch. May just want to make sure no one is around because the spitting part is not pleasant, lol!
