24 Hours Until Surgery! Anyone else?

Recommended Posts

The anxiety is really beginning to kick in now.. I can't wait to just have it behind me.. Yesterday I was even questioning whether I made the right decision.. I guess it's a normal feeling.. Today I woke up ready for surgery right now!!! Anyone else being sleeved tomorrow??? Thoughts??? Concerns???

I had mine on the 18th and felt the same way. You will go through self doubt and then excitement over and over again both pre and post surgery. Just know that it is worth it for your future.

Exactly the same reason I did it - for me to be able to really enjoy and participate with my little ones. I feel pretty good right now. The first day after surgery was rough and I was having doubts/regrets but hang in there. It gets better and better every day. I have very little pain and it has been that way from the get go. I only took pain meds 3-4 times since leaving the hospital. I have been nauseous here and there and the anti nausea meds help with that. I also got diet ginger ale and let it go completely flat and that helped as well. Drinking is different. You really have to do small little sips which means it takes a long time to drink anything. I have focused my liquids on Protein to make sure i get it in. If you haven't bought it yet, make sure you do because you may not feel like it right after. They don't taste great but are tolerable. You will be gassy. I have been burping more than anything else. I'm already down 13 pounds and just had my surgery on Tuesday. Hang in there! Stay positive! Know that you will have ups and downs! I read a lot of posts on here post surgery to validate how I was feeling and it made me feel better to know someone else can relate :)

Mine is the day after Christmas and I have had doubts also. I have had an emotional two weeks being on the liquid diet. I have had to battle my "head hunger" more than anything. I am confident this is the right answer for me. I have already lost 22 pounds as of last weeks weigh in and I am sure more now. It feels good to be on the losing side rather than the gaining side.

Good luck on your surgery and keep us posted.

Congrats on your decision, you made the right one. I was sleeved on 12/19, did not require any pain meds, left the hospital off my diabetes meds, and am now just focusing on getting my Protein in. My advise, for the gas pain (which the pain meds won't help) is to walk, and when you're lying in bed, if you get pain in your upper back/shoulders, do shoulder rolls. I also did circle massages on my stomach, very lightly to move the gas around. It helped me alot and relieved the pain quickly. I'm down 10 lbs. already :) Good luck and hope you have a smooth recovery.

Thank you so much Traci!!!! I appreciate the advice, and I pray that my recovery goes just as smoothly!!! When I had my tubligation (not sure if that's spelled right), I took the pain meds only 1 time, and after that I was fine with just Tylenol.. I remember the gas pains as well, so I'll be trying to walk as much as possible!!!!! Thanks again, and lets keep in touch!!!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
