What does you puree diet look like?

Recommended Posts

My Plan

8 oz cup Decaf coffee

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs purée into deviled egg style (makes a little less than 1/2 cup)

Work on a 32 oz Fluid from aboved list (tea, Water, Krystal Light)

Lunch: 1/2 cup refried Beans with red sauce and bit of sour cream

Work on another 32 oz fluid adding 1/2 scoop unflavored Protein so I am hiting at 60 + grams of protein daily)

Afternoon snack: 1/3 cup Ruth's chicken or tuna salad

8 oz cup decaf coffee

Supper: hormel complete meal I purée them (I choose the lowest fat and carb and no Pasta or breads)

Logging this on my fitness pal it is 738 calories and the only thing high is fat, I need to get fat free mayo at store when I go. I am not really getting 738 calories because I can't finish the whole hormel at supper. I do 3/4 at best. The refried beans once I finished but other times not quite. I usually can finish the eggs but it takes a while and that is why I have no am snack. I am obeying the 30 min rule I was given. No fluid 30 mins before or after meals. My major complaint is it feels like I spend my whole day trying to get in fluid and food I don't really want.

So what is your feedback on my purée diet?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
